Two years had passed since the re-release of “Through” and the sampler CD, and I felt a slight tug in a different direction with my music — instrumental acoustic guitar. It was a liberating feeling to create an all-improv acoustic CD, one that I could just ebb and flow with the moment and create music that was relaxing, appealing, and could allow me to drift in my thoughts. Using a simple eight-track analog recorder, my Boomerang loop machine, and a few mics in a great room, Tranquility was born from an eight-hour session of just playing from the heart without any preparation work, no scripted tunes, and just the intent to see what happens in the moment. To date, this is still one of my favorite CD’s of mine and believe it or not, I actually enjoy listening to it.
